LOCATIONS
-
We use two venues right downtown Nashville on Broadway. We will send you a text the morning of your class with your location for the day!
Both places are good ol’ bars/honkey tonks with a classic country feel that we love:
Bootleggers Inn 207 Broadway Nashville, TN 37201
Whiskey Bent Saloon 306 Broadway Nashville. TN
37201We are upstairs in both locations! You’ll find the stairs at the back of the first floor in both places – just follow them all the way up!
The bars are located a block apart on Broadway. We will send you a text the morning of your class (within two hours of your start time) with your class location for the day! Given their close proximity – you can go ahead and plan your day around being in the area!
-
We use two locations because we’ve outgrown one! We want to allow as many people to experience our classes as we possibly can. We absolutely hate having to turn people away! Bootleggers Inn is our primary location, and can hold a public class of 25-30 people. Whiskey Bent Saloon is our secondary/overflow location, and can hold a public class of up to 55. Once a class gets bigger than Bootleggers Inn can hold we split it between the two bars, and start to fill up both places.
-
There are no elevators. Guests will have to climb stairs to reach class.
-
Don’t worry – it’s only a short walk to the correct place! When you check in, your instructor will be able to see which location you’ve been placed at, and they can point you in that direction.
-
Unfortunately no. We have limited spaces in each of our classes, and your spots are being held for you at your location. This is one of the reasons we recommend arriving early and checking in promptly. It’s a very short walk between locations, and if you’ve arrived early to class at the wrong location, you’ll have plenty of time to walk to the right place.
-
Please email us at bookings@stompingrounds.us with the name on your booking, and your booking/reference number to let us know. We can email you your location instead!
-
We do our best to get all the texts out within two hours of the start time of your class, so you know where to go. If you don’t receive a text by that time, you can call or text 615-651-2888 to let us know, or email bookings@stompingrounds.us.
-
Yes! We do our best to catch all the bookings as they come through and get a text sent out. You can definitely plan on heading to the general area of our locations for your class. If you haven’t received a text within 30 minutes of your class’s start time – please call or text 615-651-2888.
BOOKING
-
You can book directly through our website! Our homepage has a ‘Book Now’ button. Click that and you’ll be taken to a calendar page where you can select your date and time, and checkout.
-
You can see it right on our website! If you click the ‘Book Now’ button on our homepage, you’ll be taken to a page that has a calendar, and you can see all the dates and times of our classes.
-
The best way for a group of any size to book is together, for multiple reasons: it makes it easier for us to make sure you’re all together, expedites your checking process, and streamlines the texting and video distribution process, to name a few.
-
We highly encourage all groups to book as one entity. If that’s not a possibility, we can make sure you’re all together! You can either text or email us with the date and time of your class, along with the list of names you would like to be together. Please make sure you use the actual
names on the bookings so there isn’t any confusion. Email/text is better than a phone call, so we have a written list from you. Reach out to 615-651-2888 or bookings@stompingrounds.us.
-
Our public classes can accommodate groups of any size within capacity restrictions. We do recommend any groups over 10 during the week, and over 15 during the weekends, checking out our private classes!
CANCELLATION POLICY
-
We appreciate you letting us know if you won’t make it so we can inform our instructors and open up space in their class.
We have a strict no cancellations/no refunds policy.
We are a small business, with limited spaces in our classes. We schedule our staff and prepare our venues (who also schedule their own staff) based on the number of tickets we’ve sold for our classes. When someone books tickets for a class, those tickets hold spots in class for them. If they cancel then those are spaces that may not get booked again, which means everyone loses money on those empty spaces: our business, our staff, our locations.
When we allow cancellations, they can quickly get out of hand, which causes a chain reaction of chaos for all those affected by our classes (guests, employees, venues etc). All this means – no cancellations.
-
We recommend not planning to attend a class shortly after arriving in town. Unfortunately we have a lot of guests that experience travel delays, delayed or canceled flights etc that end up causing them to miss their class. Plan for at least a several hour gap between your arrival and your class. Better still – plan on coming on a different day. We hate to see our guests miss class because of travel issues!
-
The short answer is no. While there are rare occasions where we can accommodate moving guests to a different time, most often we are unable to. When someone buys tickets for our class, those spots are held specifically for them. If we hold those spots, then transfer the tickets to a different class – we’ve now held double the spots for those tickets.
-
When faced with family emergencies, natural disasters etc, we try our best to work with our guests on a case by case basis. Cancellations with refunds may require proof of extenuating circumstances.
ABOUT OUR CLASSES
-
Outfits: Put on all your best country western gear for a stompin’ good time! We find a lot of our guests get so much enjoyment out of leaning into the country/western theme and coming to class decked out in cowboy hats, boots, fringe, leather, denim, rhinestones, plaid, belt buckles.. You name it! However – we want you to be comfortable above all else! Anything that is comfortable for you to move/dance in is perfect class attire.
Footwear: We do recommend boots, specifically with slick soles, for line dancing. It helps with all the slides, turns and spins. However – again we want you to be comfortable! Any comfy shoe is fine as long as it has a closed toe. We do not recommend open toed shoes. Not only are they a safety hazard for your exposed little piggies, they’re easy to trip/fall in while dancing. -
For a myriad of reasons (some which are explained below) – Please plan to arrive early! Check in as soon as you arrive, even before you buy drinks. You can access the class space as early as 30 minutes prior to the start time, or be in the bar downstairs as early as you’d like. You’ll need time to get upstairs and check in before classes start. Our classes start on time, so if you aren’t arriving until the start time you risk missing part of class, or holding up the start of class for everyone else. If you’re not walking from a downtown location you can expect to run into traffic/delays, especially on or close to the weekends. City traffic is entirely unpredictable and it’s possible for an easy 20 minute drive to suddenly take 45 minutes because of traffic.
-
Please shoot us a text (or give us a call) and let us know! You can respond to the location text you received. We can inform your instructor that you’ll be coming in late. You can join in class at any point! Just make sure you find someone to check in with either upon arrival, or during a break.
-
Beyond the fact that you need to be able to climb stairs to get to classes – We don’t impose physical restrictions/limitations on our guests. We believe line dancing is for everyone! At least 99% of our guests (of all ages and abilities) take our classes with absolutely no issues. However we do ask that you take your health into consideration and use good judgment. You will be dancing for an hour! It is definitely a cardio workout. You can expect to get your heart pumping
and break a sweat. We do consider it low impact! While some of the songs may be fast paced, the moves you’ll be learning are mild in terms of impact. You can always take a break! We do take regular water breaks, and you are more than welcome to sit down at any time you feel you need a rest.
-
e believe line dancing is for everyone! We are a family friendly class with no age limits.
However – please use caution and common sense with small children.
When it comes to very small children, it is hard to see them on the dance floor. They are easily tripped over or stepped on. We also find that an hour-long dance class isn’t the most riveting for the wee ones, and they can get bored or restless, which becomes a distraction for our other guests.
All children on the dance floor must have their own ticket. For children under 13, we ask that they have adult/parental supervision in the room with them (this does not need to be a ticketed adult). For children aged 8 and under, we ask that there be at least one ticketed adult/parent on the dance floor with them. Any children aged 5 and under need a ticketed adult per each child. Again, this is for the safety of the child and our other guests. If you are attending with a child that does not want to or have the ability to participate, there is room at both locations for spectators. Any children that are spectators need to be able to sit still without disrupting the class, or have a supervising adult (non-ticketed) adult with them at all times. If you feel you have a youth that falls outside these parameters, please feel free to reach out! Email bookings@stompingrounds.us and we’re happy to chat with you!
-
Yes! We use clean music and family friendly moves.
We are located in a bar (though in a private space away from bar patrons) and we do allow drinks in class. If you have children and have any concerns regarding being in a bar/being around drinking – we do recommend our weekday afternoon classes, or our earlier classes on Fridays and Saturdays. We can’t make any guarantees concerning our other guests, but we do tend to see more of the party crowd on the weekends or in the evenings.
-
Both venues are functioning bars and there is NO outside alcohol legally permitted, under any circumstances. Not even closed containers.
-
There are mixed drinks and beer available for purchase at the bar on the first floor of each location both before, during and after class! We do allow drinks in our classes.
-
If you have someone in your group that doesn’t want to participate in class but still wants to be part of the fun – we do have seating available! There are bar stools available in both locations, and space at the back of each room to stand or sit and watch. If you have someone with you that may not be comfortable standing or sitting on a stool for the entire hour, please reach out to bookings@stompingrounds.us and we’ll see if we can help.
-
There are no pets allowed entrance into either bar, or upstairs for our classes. Standard service animal rules and regulations apply.
We do ask that you consider the safety of your animal and the other guests before you bring them to class.
We understand and recognize the validity of and usefulness of an emotional support animal, but often find they don’t have the same training as service animals. A trained service animal generally poses no safety threat to themselves or others. Due to the rigorous training they receive, they are capable of being in our space – very loud, crowded, lots of movement, full of strangers – with ease. They can sit, stay, and leave our other guests alone, while being unbothered themselves. Support animals don’t always receive the same training and can find the noise and activity level of our classes unnerving and bothersome. This can cause them to be anxious, wary of our other guests, and/or incapable of holding a sit/stay/down position. All of which poses a safety concern for them and others.
We do not allow animals to be held while dancing, for everyone’s safety.
If you have any questions, please reach out to bookings@stompingrounds.us
-
In short – yes (if you want to)! It’s a great way to tell your instructor how much fun you had, and how much you appreciate their hard work!
We know money is an uncomfortable subject sometimes, but we also know that our guests have questions. So let’s talk about it! We recognize that tipping culture is a hot issue right now, and if you would prefer not to tip please don’t feel obligated.
Many of our guests want to tip, and we want to make that option available to them. Also, a lot of our guests say they would have come prepared to tip if they’d known! So we want to make sure everyone is aware of the option.
-
Standard gratuity (15%-20%) is of course appreciated, but any tip is so valuable to our instructors! You’ll notice there is an optional tip amount at checkout starting as low as 5%, as well as a tip bucket in class, and a QR code available for Venmo. Any amount is wonderful! Any amount adds up! Any amount lets our instructors know that they’re doing a great job!
-
It’s a great way to show your instructor(s) how much you loved your class!
Also, what they do is hard work! Even our busiest instructors don’t work full time hours. It’s a highly physically demanding job, and they work as much as they can without burning out or putting their health at risk. They need to make sure they’re taking the time to take good care of themselves with all they put their bodies through. Your tips help them to be able to take that time!
-
All parking downtown is in paid lots or garages, and there are plenty to choose from! We recommend using the app SpotHero to find up to date parking availability and pricing. We also recommend using their reservation feature! This way you’ll know exactly where you’re headed, and don’t have to spend time driving around looking for a place to park.
-
There is a lot across the river by the stadium that is cheaper than other lots, and sometimes even free during non-peak hours. Just be prepared for a bit of a walk!
-
That’s such a great option! We do caution our guests to plan to be early when using a rideshare service like Uber/Lyft etc, because it’s a common experience for the drivers to run late, causing our guests to be late.
-
Then it should be a breeze to get to us! The only thing that ever delays our pedestrian guests is weather, or street closures for special events. Just make sure you plan your route ahead of time if it’s a festival, concert, parade or race weekend!
CLASS VIDEOS
-
During our classes we will set up a recording device and record the whole class dancing. We record both dances learned during class, and email you those videos along with the class selfie that your instructor takes.
-
No! We include the videos as a free keepsake from us when you take our class. It is not factored into the pricing.
-
We will email it to you! When you check in to class your instructor will ask for your email address. If you miss checking in or they don’t ask – make sure you give it to them before you leave!
-
Videos take an average of 1-2 weeks to distribute. They have to be individually uploaded and emailed.
-
First – please check your junk/spam folders! The videos get lost in there quite regularly. They will be coming from media@stompingrounds.us. If you don’t have your video after two weeks. Please send us an email with your name, and class date, time and location, and let us know!
-
We try our best to make sure everyone gets a class video! We know our classes are a memorable experience and we want all our guests to have that keepsake. Unfortunately sometimes even the best technology fails, and there have been a handful of times that we’ve had class videos that have not saved properly, not uploaded properly, or that have recorded with corrupted visuals or audio. We’ve had this happen very seldom, but there is no way to make this process 100% foolproof. This is another reason why we don’t charge for the videos. We’d never ask our guests to pay for something that we can’t 100% guarantee.
-
We totally understand that not everyone wants to be on video! If that’s the case, speak with your instructor beforehand and they will do their best to make sure you’re off camera.
